I discovered the wonderful work of My Mama Mojo a few months ago after a friend of mine posted a link to the website on Facebook. I opened the link and read the blog from Heather. It was like her blog was saying exactly how I was feeling. I was in desperate need of some “me time”. But, how would that happen???? I attended a few of Heather’s workshops and had a few sessions with her on the phone. I soon realized that I was not alone in my feelings of being overwhelmed at times and feeling like I had no identity other than “Mommy”. I love being a Mommy, don’t get me wrong, but we still need to keep our identity. I have made it a point to regularly have some time to me, whether it is getting my hair done, or just working in the yard. Heather keeps me in check with the importance of taking care of “me” as well as others. We are no good to anyone if we aren’t also good to ourselves! Thanks Heather for your great work!

As a new mom in my first year of motherhood, I have really struggled with adapting to this new identity. I was confident in who I was before I had my daughter, but after she was born I just couldn’t figure out how to have the life and career I really desire while being the best mom I can be. Working with Heather has been a true gift. In just a few short sessions, she has been able to help me let go of the notion that I have to live my life as the mom I thought I “should” be and instead just have fun with creating what I actually want my life to look like – career, family, and all. Not only has Heather been a terrific sounding board, she is incredibly intuitive about what’s really going on below the surface. She has a way of listening and then reflecting back to you what she heard while also identifying the “stuff” that’s not being said. With her help, I am already living a far more joyful existence day to day being the mom I choose to be, and as a bonus she’s successfully helping me grow my business. I feel more alive and on track now than I ever thought possible in this new chapter of my life. It turns out you can have it all, you just need the right person to show you how to make it possible! I count my blessings every time I have a conversation with her … my life is so much richer having Heather as my coach.

Heather delivered a workshop at my shop, and it was terrific! We had about 10 moms sign up, and it was a cozy, comfortable, safe environment in which all the moms opened up about their current frustrations and issues, and shared thoughts on how others could move forward as well. The moms who attended represented various stages of mommy-hood, from brand-new moms to those with little ones, and a few with grown teenagers among their brood. The session lasted longer than planned, as folks didn’t want to head out into the night and back to the normalcy of their lives. However, with a little insight taken away, thanks to Heather’s thoughtful direction and probing within pre-defined themes, we walked away with a smile and a lot more optimism. We look forward to the next session with Heather!

When I called Heather for the first time to ask about life coaching, I wasn’t too sure what exactly I was looking for—but I knew I was unhappy and wanted a change. Life coaching seemed a bit intimidating…..what would I talk about? What if I am the only mom having these doubts and feelings? What if it doesn’t work?

After five minutes of my first conversation with Heather, I felt at ease and reassured that I was not the “only one”. Before our first session, I felt as though I had a unique situation—I was a working mother of three babies with a demanding, hectic career and family. However, what I came to learn is that I was not the only mom who had feelings of guilt. Although my children were genuinely the best things I had ever done, I had lost myself in the process and entered a very solitary world that I did not know quite how to navigate. Heather initially impressed me with her professionalism and compassion—I felt that she really understood what I was going through and what I wanted to achieve. She definitely has some “mojo” going on because through our discussions I began to realize what I thought I wanted wasn’t AT ALL what I wanted….

Through sincerity, encouragement and pure talent, Heather has assisted in helping me find out who I am in addition to a mom of three and what I needed to put back into my life in order to reach my goals both personally and professionally. Even the most “together” mom would benefit from Heather’s expertise and will have fun going through the process! I look forward to our sessions and always feel more focused and energized to stay on track afterwards—-I cannot thank her enough!!

I am amazed that in just one hour of working with Heather, we were able to hone in on such a big issue and come up with such a powerful technique to help me catch and redirect myself in difficult moments. It was great how she helped me zero in on such a quick/simple/easy-to-remember first step, which really allowed me to relax and let the following steps naturally unfold from that grounded place. And just like we practiced, when it didn’t work right away I was able to be ok with that and to keep trying again from an increasingly grounded place. Each time I tried, I made at least a little progress so it kept getting easier. Thank you so much for helping me manifest this!

It was such a relief to find a safe space where I could share my frustrations as a new parent. As a fellow mother, Heather understood all about nap woes and childcare burnout; as a life coach, she helped me come up with new approaches for these issues and more.

In addition to offering guidance for making parenthood more enjoyable and less stressful, Heather helped return my focus to some of my non-child related interests. She validated the need to pay attention to myself outside the role of mother. Her coaching style really does embody the philosophy of “a happy mother-happy child.”

Heather offers a great combination of insight, empathy, and encouragement. I ended each session with a concrete list of to-do items, and perhaps more importantly, a renewed sense of optimism. It’s such a nice feeling to know that someone is rooting for you and trying to help get you where you want to go!

At the moment of my daughter’s birth she started to scream like a banshee and immediately I felt like a deer caught in the headlights. While many aspects of becoming a mother have been less dramatic (and more pleasant) than that moment, the feeling of being totally unprepared for motherhood has remained a constant. My logical self knows that many mothers feel this way, but I have often felt very alone with my feelings of inadequacy as a parent.

Working with Heather made me feel much more comfortable with my insecurities, as well as my occasional ambivalence, about motherhood. It has been hard to find other women who will be really truthful how hard this job can be. Heather has a way of laying her own experiences out on the table that made me feel completely safe about being honest with her and letting my vulnerabilities around motherhood show.

Heather is an excellent listener and I felt really heard and understood by her. Even through my disjointed ramblings about what was going on for me, she was able to glean the core issues I was facing and give me some clear feedback. Heather’s coaching is practical and down-to-earth. Within the first two sessions I was able to move past a couple of big roadblocks in my professional as well as my personal life.

Heather brings together the best aspects of counseling and coaching. My time with her was very well spent and I look forward to working with her again.

Working mothers need Heather! I believe in Heather, not only because of her skill and compassion as a Life Coach, but also because she is a genuinely caring individual. Her desire to see others succeed is palpable. One of her greatest gifts to me, is that she has helped me to believe in myself.

Even prior to reentering the workforce, as a new mom, it would have been such a relief to have someone to actively listen to my thoughts, fears, questions and hopes. Heather has been through it all, without knowing it all and she encouraged me to face ambiguity with a confident, experimental approach as well – one that breaks traditional expectations while demystifying the “Life Coaching” process.

Heather is indescribably sensitive, accessible, supportive and intuitive throughout the coaching journey. She brings a unique blend of intelligence and compassion to the table. From my heart, I can say that I’ve found a friend in her.

My wish for all working moms is to feel the calm, hopeful confidence that I have gained from working with Heather and I’d like to thank Heather for making this such a fun and rewarding experience for me!
